This Might be an unpopular opinion but hear me out…
Manifesting is a Myth!
Why I think Manifesting is Not All It’s Cracked Up to Be
While setting intentions and visualising goals can be powerful tools for motivation and focus, the idea that simply thinking positively or wanting something badly enough will make it materialise disregards the complexities of life. ( we can agree that life is complex, right?)
Systemic inequalities, hard work, external circumstances, and the role of luck or chance all influence outcomes.
The New Age teachings promoting manifesting as a universal law can lead to victim-blaming and oversimplification of complex issues. ( which doesn’t seem very fair or “spiritual”)
Can we embrace a more nuanced understanding that includes acknowledging the challenges and factors beyond our control?
Who actually benefits from the teachings of manifestation?
Those who sell books, courses and workshops promoting it!
Some people may find comfort and motivation in the idea of manifestation and maybe even a sense of empowerment and control even though the actual outcome will always be uncertain.
In reality though, most people just end up feeling disillusioned if their desires don’t materialise as the book, course or workshop promised.
“The truth is that you already are what you are seeking. You are looking for God with his/ her eyes. This is the problem. Stop looking. And you will find.”
Pema Chodron
If the word “God” is uncomfortable for you, feel free to replace the word with whatever you call the source e.g Great Spirit, The Universe, Love etc
